On such a boring Tuesday evening I thought it could be a good time for a short "so far so good" summary:
I've been living in the US for almost three weeks now and all I can say by now is: so far so good. To be honest, the fact I am suffering from most is a big lack of alcohol. Nevertheless I am sure that I can handle this this weekend at the latest ;)
Well, I settled down pretty well and I almost feel a little bit home in here. What sucks (Danke Mama, dass mir das bisher weitestgehend erspart blieb ;) - ja ich gebe es zu :)) is taking care of the laundry and buying food. Whatever: some things have to be done.
Work is great over here. Lots of interesting experiments (especially the one I work on) and many very nice people.
Sundays are almost like paradise: tons of NFL games from 1000am till ~0900pm :) and tons of beer whenever you want (Hinweis: das amerikanische Bier ist nicht so scheiße, wie immer alle behaupten! Im Gegenteil, es ist teilweise sogar richtig lecker, mal von den ekligen Weizenbier-Plagiaten abgesehen. Seit einigen Jahren gilt hier microbrew > macrobrew . Die Zeiten, in denen es nur Miller und BudLight gab, sind lang vorüber!).
At last I also have to mention the very nice weather over here - although it tends to be pretty chilly during the night (I use a heater since yesterday - Der heater zieht so viel Strom, dass die Schreibtischlampe dunkler wird, wenn ich ihn anschalte ;)).
